Early Holiday Season

By November 19, 2015One Comment

The holiday season is coming early this year. Inside stores decorations and holiday music can already be heard.

Normally decorations and music does not come until after Thanksgiving. In recent years commercialism has accelerated the season in hopes of getting more money out of your pocket. This year holiday decorations could be spotted as early as the day after Halloween and holiday music could be heard soon after in some stores.

Aside from Christmas, another holiday that has been accelerated, and extended, is Black Friday. Black Friday is a commercial holiday which in years past meant cheaper technology on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Last year some stores started black Friday a full week in advance. This year the same can be expected. Some people even began camping out for sales days before Friday.

What does this mean for the Future?

One idea: The early holiday season will have great effects on past traditions people have. Thanksgiving will slowly be neglected as a commercial holiday and become just a family holiday. There will not be any room for turkey decorations and brown, yellow and red decor due to the shelves being filled with Christmas decorations . People could slowly start putting Thanksgiving aside in hoped of gaining that extra deal on the new toys for their children or spouse.

What do you think about Thanksgiving disappearing?
