I find it hard to think of something more American than a small town hamburger joint; Big Larry’s Burgers is exactly that. Located at 328 S. Meridian, Big Larry’s offers traditional American food. From great burgers to fried pickles, Big Larry’s is truly American cuisine.

Big Larry’s may be a fine small town diner style restaurant, but it is definitely not a gourmet burger restaurant. You will not be getting a burger that looks like it belongs in Elite Traveler, but it will certainly taste like it; what is severely lacking in presentation is made up in taste. I was able to try their double cheeseburger while I was there and it is definitely something that I would highly recommend.

Made with good quality ingredients and hand rolled patties, it definitely made quite the impression. I was able to try a sundry of their fried sides as well, none of which was especially noteworthy but, nevertheless, they were all good. Their fries are hand cut and freshly made each day, so you won’t be getting the same frozen blandness that many fast food chains offer. That being said, there was almost no salt on them whatsoever, something I found that could be good or bad. If you eat inside their dining area, you can add salt to your personal preference (since I like a bit more salt on mine than normal, it worked out for me), but if you go through the drive-through, you’re doomed to eat salt-less fries as your side.

Overall, I enjoyed Big Larry’s Burgers; from the delicious “boom sauce” to their outstanding ice cream (with flavors you never thought possible in ice cream), Big Larry’s is a good burger joint. Their dining area is very clean, and the staff is very friendly- something hard to find in a burger joint these days. The prices are a little high for what is delivered, but nothing that would make me not go back. All in all, Big Larry’s Burgers is the perfect place to go if you’re looking for a decent burger and a great environment.
