The Boston Celtics have signed free-agent Gordon Hayward! More on this and other news below!

After a lot of suspense all day on twitter, highly-coveted free-agent Gordon Hayward has decided to take his talents to Boston over the Miami Heat and his former team, of whom he spent seven years with, the Utah Jazz. The deal is four years, $128 million. Hayward will now complete a Celtics team who lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games in last season’s Eastern Conference Finals. With second year SF Jaylen Brown and rookie Jayson Taytum (better known by their fans as “7-11”), along with veteran Jae Crowder, the Celtics look set at Small Forward/Power Forward. Their only issue will be whether or not they can start rebounding the ball.

In other NBA news, the Sacramento Kings have signed veterans George Hill and Zach Randolph. I personally hate this move because it takes a team that should be focused on losing and getting lottery balls, and makes them better.

Kevin Durant agreed to a two-year, fifty-three million dollar contract with the Warriors. The reigning Finals MVP is sticking with his squad that is fresh off bringing another chip to the bay area.

Kyle Lowry re-signed with the Toronto Raptors, which came as a surprise to many. I guess they’ll continue to not get past the second round of the NBA playoffs for another three years…

Finally, Chauncey Billups has withdrawn himself from the running for the GM job for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Billups released a statement to ESPN on his decision:

“I have great respect for Dan Gilbert and the Cleveland Cavaliers, and I greatly appreciate the discussions we had regarding their organization,” Billups said. “As I have conveyed before, ultimately I would like to lead a team’s basketball operation and be a part of a successful franchise. But presently, the timing just isn’t right to delve into that role in Cleveland. In the meantime, I will continue to focus on broadcasting and my other business endeavors.”
