A 108 year drought makes it easy to be the BUTT of many sports jokes.  It also reveals who your true fans are.  Year after year thinking this is it, I feel it, this is our year fans of the Cubs would proclaim but coming up short.

It has been said thousands of times since the victory last night,  “I waited my whole life for this”.  You don’t have to be a Cubs fan to appreciate this moment with them.  Kinda like when Obama became the first black president, you just felt a shift in the air.

The Cubs have been positioning for this run since last year.  They were the favorite to win it all by most analyst.  That prediction was in great jeopardy when the time went down 3-1 to Cleveland.  Which ironically faced a similar hurdle in the NBA Finals before they came back and won the championship.  Not even the presence of the star-studded Lebron James could will the Indians to a win.

Well, he almost did.  This was an epic game with so many twist that could easily be a Hollywood movie.  In game 7 the Cubs took an early 5-1 lead.  They pretty much dominated the first 7 innings.  Cleveland added a few runs but the lead was a commanding one.  In the bottom of the 8th inning,  Cleveland tied the game.

Then there was a game delay.  The momentum was with the Indians.  The delay gave the Cubs to rally together and give it one more push. In the top of the 10th inning, Big Ben Zobrist who is in his second consecutive World Series Game, last with the Kansas City Royals, gave the Cubs the lead with and RBI.

By the bottom of the 10th inning, the curse would be over and the Cubs Win!

Cleveland gives up a 3-1 game lead and Cubs become a champion again.  The best part of the whole night was to see the players families on the field and little kids under the age of two running around.  They will live in a different world, they will live in a world where all they know is the Cubs Win!
