In what was probably the biggest game in Kansas sports this year, Wichita State easily handled Kansas with a score of 78-65. WSU can now be sure of it: They are the kings of Kansas men’s college basketball!

With another great game from Fred VanVleet and a better shooting performance from Ron Baker, the Shockers were able to hand a huge loss to the Jayhawks. As someone who has grown up rooting for the Jayhawks, I hate to say this, but I think KU has become very overrated. They have trouble against physical defensive teams and play terrible post defense. Next up for WSU: a Sweet-Sixteen matchup versus Notre Dame (March 26th – 6:15 p.m. on CBS)

With Kentucky still in WSU’s region; hopefully the Shockers can ride this momentum to what would be a crazy rematch versus the team that knocked off their undefeated season last tournament.
