We got spirit … Yes we do! The South High “Pep Club” has been working hard this past month to bring “school spirit” back to South High School. It all started when the well-loved “Baking & Pastry” teacher, Samantha Bradley, grew tired of coming to the school where she had been teaching for years and seeing the students lacking “school spirit.”

She decided to take action and come up with a phenomenal idea! The South High “Pep Club” was created. During COVID-19, when students were forced to switch to virtual learning, the motivation in students decreased drastically. “Pep Club” is not just any other club; it has a purpose, which is to support the school’s Sports Teams to do what they do best. Not only does it assist with “school spirit,” but it also helps with the player’s motivation in the game and self esteem. “Pep Club” Founders/Presidents, Dachelle & Micahia, believe that bringing down your school’s sports team is not going to help in the process of them getting better!

“Pep Club” is seeking donations, and people to sponsor their club. They believe changing to

getting into games for “free” will help with the turnout in supporting our high school sports teams. “Pep Club” has turned into a fun experience for many diverse individuals. These students get a chance to meet new friends, be social, and support their school in the process. “Pep Club” is expanding by the week, and sports participants are appreciative. Not only are they expressing it verbally, but it is starting to show in their performances. This club was started with the intention of showing the “beauty” of South High School. The founders are working to change the view of South High from one of a negative environment to something positive!
