What can make a day full of parades, nagging relatives, and fantastic food even better? Football.

Lions maul the wounded Eagles

With Eagles’ quarterback Sam Bradford out for the first game of turkey-day, Mark Sanchez, Mr. Butt Fumble himself, started against a surprisingly streaking Lions team. Sanchez ended up with almost 200 yards and 2 TDs, but was vastly outplayed by Matthew Stafford, who threw 5 touchdown passes (and scored almost 50 fantasy points), 3 of those to Calvin Johnson. The Lions would end up blowing out the struggling Eagles 45-14. The biggest story of this game was Eagles’ head coach Chip Kelly. Many of Kelly’s decision came under scrutiny after the game. My biggest concern was putting rookie CB on Megatron for most of the game and also not even double or triple covering the 6’5”, 237 pound receiver. The Lions face the Packers next, as the Eagles go to Gillette Stadium to play the undefeated Patriots.

Panthers stay unbeaten as Dallas loses Romo once again

3 plays into the game and Tony Romo throws his third pick since returning from injury, this time for a Panthers’ touchdown. 2 picks later, another returned for a TD, and Romo goes down in the 4th, injuring the same shoulder from earlier this season, only this time, he’s out for the season. On a brighter note, the Panthers move to 11-0 and go up against their rival, New Orleans, next week. The Cowboys go up against the Redskins next week. One thing is for sure, the Cowboys won’t turn things around until Jerry Jones actually drafts a quarterback and hires a coach his players will actually respect.

What happened to the Packers?

With a 17-13 loss to Chicago, the Packers move to 7-4. Aaron Rodgers threw for 202 yards, a TD, and an interception. He also is 1-4 in his last 5 games. In what was a very defensive-oriented game, we saw Jeremy Langford actually outrush Matt Forte. Next up the Bears face the 49ers and the struggling Packers go to Detroit to face the surging Lions.
